Surviving in Sydney/Paris

hier mal eine nützliche Linksammlung für das tägliche Leben in Sydney bzw. Paris:

Sydney

  •  Wohnungssuche: die beste Seite dafür ist meiner Meinung nach gumtree..ansonsten kann man auch noch hier schauen: domain.com.au , UTS Housing Service, Flatmate Finders, Flatmates.com.au .. ansonsten kann ich das Studentenwohnheim Gnumal noch sehr empfehlen, allerdings muss man sich da sehr früh um einen Platz bewerben
  • Transportverbindungen in Sydney: wer in Sydney von A nach B kommen will muss unbedingt bei 131500 nachschauen.. hier findet man alle Bus- oder Zugverbindungen.. ohne Internet ist das kaum möglich rauszufinden, da die Busfahrpläne absolut unübersichtlich sind :) wer nur Zugverbindungen sucht, kann sich seinen Fahrplan bei CityRail rauslassen
  • Fotoversicherung (auch für Laptop geeignet) gegen Diebstahl etc. gibts bei P&P Pergande  Pöthe GmbH und heisst dort FotoAssekuranz.. habe dort mein Notebook und meine Spiegelreflexkamera mit 2 Objektiven für ~100€/Jahr versichert (vielen Dank an Jakob für den Tipp!)
  • Auslandskrankenversicherung gibts am günstigsten bei der DKV (zahle ~30€/Monat)
  • Visum - Informationen rund um das Visum bzw. die Adresse des Büros der australischen Einwanderungsbehörde für Visumsfragen (falls das Visum verlängert werden soll z.B. gibt es hier
  • Internationaler Studentenausweis – habe ich bisher zwar noch nicht gebraucht, aber den kann man auch hier in Sydney beantragen, falls man es zu Hause vergessen hat ;) Adresse des Büros in Sydney gibts hier
  • Bewerbung an einer australischen Uni lässt sich am einfachsten über z.B. das Ranke-Heineman Institut machen.. ist kostenlos und die nehmen einem viel Arbeit ab (z.B. den ganzen Schriftverkehr nach Australien).. alternativ gibt es auch noch z.B. GOstralia.de (zumindest um Erfahrungsberichte durchzulesen lohnt sich auch ein Besuch dieser Seite)
  • Australia Post – hier lässt sich wunderbar nachschauen, wieviel ein Päckchen von Australien nach Deutschland kostet.. sehr praktisch :-)
  • Poste Restente - wenn man sich Post oder ein Paket (z.B. von Ebay :D ) auf die nächstgelegene Post zuschicken lassen möchte, dann haben die Australier einen kostenlosen Service dafür.. einfach mal hier vorbeischauen für weitere Infos
  • Deutsche Botschaft - wenn man den internationalen Führerschein in Sydney noch nachträglich beantragen will, dann kann man hier einfach mal anrufen bzw. vorbeigehen
  • (Web)Radio - wer ab und zu gerne mal australische Radiosender anhören möchte und nicht weiß, was es alles gibt – hier gibts dazu ne gute Übersicht.. bzw. ich kann soweit Nova969 und TripleM empfehlen
